This project consisted of the construction of 7 No. single storey bungalows, a two storey block of 4 No. apartments and a single storey communal building containing 2 No. En-suite bedrooms; 3 No. offices, a kitchen and communal room with toilets and various stores.

The construction generally comprised of a deep dig with concrete trench fill and reinforced strip foundations, solid rising walls with insitu reinforced concrete suspended ground floors; external rendered block work, insulated cavity walls; precast concrete stairs and 1st floor units; timber roof trusses with concrete tiles; uPVC windows and hardwood external doors. M&E services were carried out by our domestic sub contractors. Associated site works and landscaping included roads, pavements and car parking finished in concrete paving setts and asphalt with site fencing and bin storage areas.

Problems associated with working next to a ‘live’ school were overcome by working closely with the Design Team, School Liaison Officer, Staff and Janitors. Material deliveries were co-ordinated and delivered outside of school hours to ensure the safety of staff and pupils and to minimise disruption.
