Ardoyne Community & Resource Centre

This project consisted of a new two storey Community Centre and two retail units on a Brownfield Site at 85-87 Alliance Road, Belfast. Designed as a multi-functional community building with catering facilities, the two retail units were occupied by a MACE franchisee. The construction generally consisted of deep dig trench fill, lean mix concrete and reinforced concrete strip and pad foundations; solid rising concrete block work; precast ground, first floor and stair units; a structural steel frame; external facing brick work, insulated cavity walls; plaster block work internally; insulated Kingspan roof cladding with MET-SEAM ZINC sheet covering; powder coated aluminium window and door units; M&E and passenger lift installations. The building is finished to a high specification including fitted furniture; floor coverings; and decoration. Associated site works included car parking and footpaths finished in asphalt and concrete paving flags; landscaping; fencing and utility services.
