Completed in 2010, this project comprised of a new three storey hotel building consisting of 43 en-suite bedrooms; conference and leisure facilities; ballroom; restaurant; public bars and bathrooms.

There were both piled and strip foundations; solid rising block walls; a structural steel frame; precast concrete flooring; insulted cavity block walls with 650 m2 of natural dressed stone; a slated roof; M&E and lift installations; car parking; landscaping and complete internal fit out.

The new hotel was constructed on an edge of town site beside existing buildings. The new hotel was designed so as to blend in with the existing building fabric on the edge of the town and this was achieved by the extensive use of natural dressed stone and natural roof slate together with timber windows to the front façade. Solar tubes were installed to heat domestic hot water.
